    Glass Road

    until
4-player game of Glass Road from Capstone Games, played on Tabletop Simulator. GM: David Hu Level of Players Expected: Beginners Welcome The game Glass Road commemorates the 700-year-old tradition of glass-making in the Bavarian Forest. (Today, the "Glass Road" is a route through the Bavarian forest that takes visitors to many of the old glass houses and museums of that region.) You must skillfully manage your glass and brick production in order to build the right structures that help you keep your business flowing. Cut the forest to keep the fires burning in the ovens, and spread and remove ponds, pits, and groves to supply yourself with the items you need. Fifteen specialists are there at your side to carry out your orders... In more detail, the game consists of four building periods. Each player has an identical set of fifteen specialist cards, and each specialist comes with two abilities. At the beginning of each building period, you choose a hand of five specialists. If during this building period, you play a specialist that no other player has in hand, you may use both abilities on that card; if two or more players play the same specialist, each of them may use only one of the two abilities. Exploiting the abilities of these specialists lets you collect resources, lay out new landscape tiles (e.g., ponds and pits), and build a variety of buildings, which come in three types: Processing buildings "Immediate" buildings with a one-time effect Buildings that provide bonus points at the end of the game for various accomplishments Mastering the balance of knowing the best specialist card to play and being flexible about when you play it — together with assembling a clever combination of buildings — is the key to this game. You must already own Tabletop Simulator from Steam and have it installed: https://store.steampowered.com/app/286160/Tabletop_Simulator/ The server name is Envoy and the password is Envoy. Please sign up at least 12 hrs. before event starts. We will use voice communication within Tabletop Simulator.

    Squadro

    until
2-player game of Squadro from Gigamic, played on BGA. GM: Jim Dunaway To win Squadro, you need to be the first player to make a return trip with four of your five pieces. Each player starts with their five pieces in troughs on their side of the game board, with players sitting perpendicular to one another. When you move a piece, you move it a distance based on the strength indicated in the trough that you're leaving. Once the piece has made its way across the board, you move it back based on the strength on the other side. If you pass over an opposing piece while moving, then that opposing piece must return to its last departing base and your moving piece advances one cell further than where the opposing piece was. Although it is easy to reach a situation where moving any piece implies putting it at risk — therefore making you not want to move — it is important to note that having some of your pieces taken and making your opponent advance is often beneficial to you, since it reduces the amount of possible moves your opponent can perform and gives you extra moves. So do not be afraid or reluctant to place some of your pieces in front of your opponent's, because it can be good for you. Sit next to your rival and have fun! I will post the Board Game Arena table number here and on my Discord server 10 minutes prior to the start of the game under the Gigamic channel. https://boardgamearena.com/table?table=233292661

    Quoridor

    until
4-player game of Quoridor from Gigamic, played on BGA. GM: Jim Dunaway The abstract strategy game Quoridor is surprisingly deep for its simple rules. The object of the game is to advance your pawn to the opposite edge of the board. On your turn you may either move your pawn or place a wall. You may hinder your opponent with wall placement, but not completely block them off. Meanwhile, they are trying to do the same to you. The first pawn to reach the opposite side wins. I will post the Board Game Arena table link here and on my Discord server 10 minutes prior to the start time.

    Quarto

    until
2 Player Game of Quarto from Gigamic Games played on Board Game Arena. Envoy Herald: Pat Rurek Level of players expected: Beginners Welcome. Quarto has a 4×4 board and 16 pieces. Each piece has four dichotomous attributes — color, height, shape, and consistency — so each piece is either black or white, tall or short, square or round, and hollow or solid. The object is to place the fourth piece in a row in which all four pieces have at least one attribute in common. The twist is that your opponent gets to choose the piece you place on the board each turn. Join my Discord for voice communications and Tabletopia info: https://discord.gg/6X3fSWP
