Finding Online Games to Play

The Gateway has numerous resources to help you find games that you are familiar with - and new games that you can learn from Envoy Heralds (experienced gamemasters who will teach a game from the beginning and make sure you have fun with it).

The front page has several shortcuts for finding categories of games, but all of these are simple tag searches that you can replicate yourself with the powerful Search functions of the Gateway. On the right side of your screen is the ever-present "Search" box. You can type in the name of a game (usually one word of a complex title is enough) or some other piece of information that you might find in the descriptions of events.

But if you click on the search box and hit return, you enter a much more advanced screen which allows you to be far more specific in your queries. This section also allows you to search by Tags or Authors.

Note that this is the place where you can also search for other people, by clicking the "Member Search" tab.

When you enter the Calendar screen, you can also use three functions specific to events:

1) Events on Platform - find all upcoming events that are taking place on the Platform you select.

2) Search for Age Range... - find all upcoming events with the specific Age Range you select. Note that this is a great way to find events which are suitable for children.

3) Events With Available Seats... - find all upcoming events that still have seats available in the specific calendar you select.

Finally, when you find an event you are interested in, you might not be available when it happens, or it might already be filled. You can use the "Find More Instances of This Event" link at the bottom of every event to quickly find all other days and times the specific event is happening in the future.
