King of the Dice

Online Games
Jim Dunaway (M21-712)

5-player game of King of the Dice from Haba Games, played on TTS. Envoy Herald/Gamemaster: Jim Dunaway.

Level of Players Expected: Beginners Welcome

King of the Dice

You're finally a king! All your dreams have been fulfilled. You sit content in your castle and look out over your wonderful kingdom. Green meadows, rolling fields, high mountains and clear rivers stretch as far as your eyes can see... but one thing is missing from your kingdom: citizens! So you announce the merits of the kingdom all over the country – in the rich cities, to the crazy gnomes in their workshops, to the dwarves in their deep mines, and also to the orcs, fairies and the sorcerer's apprentices.
But they aren't easily convinced; after all there are also other kings trying to win them over. That's why you need skill and luck with the dice to entice the best citizens to your kingdom. But watch out for scoundrels and dragons. Otherwise your thriving kingdom will soon be a wretched wasteland, and you'll have to watch as someone else is crowned King of the Dice.

Make your kingdom thrive!

Step 1: Gain new citizens for your kingdom by fulfilling the various requirements on the cards with three rolls of the dice.
Step 2: Special cards provide you with benefits. But watch out for scoundrels and dragons.
Step 3: The player with the best citizens at the end wins the game!

I am going to sign up with the assumption that the electricity and internet will be permanently fixed. Houston is having rolling blackouts  and I know several AT&T and Sprint towers lost power but were running cell service sporadically on generators.  Don't know about T-Mobile or Verizon.  Both U-verse and Xfinity were having TV and internet blackouts since Sunday.

I'm crossing everything I can that things will get better and you'll be able to join us.

I'll be running this again later this month and next month. If you can't make it tomorrow night there will be plenty of other times.

Be well!

Jim

Okay, I see this now got moved to Friday at 7 pm CST, when Holly, Robert and I are signed up for Floodgate Friday, and Shayla will be running her scheduled Orleans demo one hour after this one starts.  I have already committed to Floodgate Friday, so I have to leave this one.  I will try and catch it some other time.

Do you have the Discord Server information yet?  I can teach you how to make the server invite last longer than 24 hours.

Not yet. Right now I'm at war with Discord.

I can't get my mic to work. I've tried 3 different headsets (1 bluetooth and 2 wired) but no luck. I've checked all the settings, both in Discord and my computer. Still no luck.

Arrrrrrgh!

Are you wired with USB or 3.5?  Do all the headsets have a built in mic with individual audio controls? Getting your mic working would help make your life easier.

3.5 and bluetooth. Both 3.5 headsets have individual controls but the bluetooth is always on. Playing with the controls on the mics made no difference.

Some headsets have the ability to be plugged in by 3.5 in the mic or headset jack.  Did you try switching ports? Just a maybe.  I'm sure its probably a small setting or check box somewhere.  I would think it is less likely that ALL of your headsets are bad.  Maybe you can send a screenshot of your discord and/or audio settings for someone to look at.  They may be able to help find a solution.

I don't think Discord is the issue, you could not get the TTS chat to work when we played Kokoro, either.  I could not hear you at all, except for one brief second, yet, you could hear me fine.  GG and I can work with you on it for a little bit.

Have you tried downloading Discord app for your phone?  GG uses it on her phone, and my husband uses it for his phone exlusively when we play games online because he likes using his around-the-neck headset.  We started using it when his old computers' bluetooth circuit went out.

It is basically same discord, but using your phones' speaker and mic.

Does your headset work with Google Meet or Xoom?
